The Belper Rover 2019-Race Instructions
NOTE: Failure to read these instructions will affect your performance in this event.

Date: 18th August 2019
FREE Parking: is available at Market place car park, Market place Belper DE56 1FZ. The entrance to the car park is at the side of Monki do tattoo shop. Do not park in the Market Place. 10 minute walk to start. Follow neon yellow arrow signs to Belper Meadows.
Parking: is also available at Field lane car park DE56 1DD Belper £2.70 ALL DAY from there follow neon yellow arrow signs (to the race) to Belper Meadows – 5 minute walk.
There is NO PARKING at the start or finish. Please do not park at East Mill or any other areas other than official car parks. Belper will be quiet when you arrive but can be busy on Sundays after 10:00.
Belper Football club will be having several football matches during the day starting while you are out on the course. If you park in the wrong place your car may get boxed in. The football ground is next to Belper Meadows sports centre & shares the same access road & car park, it gets very busy.
Race HQ. Number & chip collection,bag drop,changing etc.

NO Dogs are permitted inside the Belper meadows facility building or inside the fenced area.
The Finish area is crewed by volunteers from Amber Valley District Guides, Please say thank you to them for assisting you from Start to Finish. For details on joining the guides / scouts please ask.
Belper meadows Sports facility will be supplying hot & cold drinks and food in the morning before the race and after the race bacon cobs etc , pasta meals & more – please support them.
Your race number & chip.
Your race number will be on the entrant list on the belper rover website / facebook page after the 12th August. To save you time on the morning please make a note of your race number before you arrive,it will make collection a lot quicker. We will also have a list of entrants at the race HQ, find your name on the list, note your race number & collect your number from the registration desk.
Race chip your race chip will be supplied with your race number attach the chip to your shoe under the laces, the chip is non returnable.
Walkers can collect their numbers from 07:30 & start at 08:00.
Runners can collect their numbers & chip from 08:00 & start at 09:30.
Runners starting before 09:30 will not be chip timed or eligible for prizes.
Bag drop: Available at Belper meadows race HQ., Please have your race no (nice & big) on your bag using a secure label so we can find it quickly when you finish.
If you do not put your number on your bag we cannot accept it.
Changing rooms, Toilets, Changing rooms, showers & catering are available inside the facility building at race HQ /Finish. There will be an additional 4 portaloo’s (with paper) in the finish area.
Please do not urinate anywhere around Belper Meadows sports centre other than the toilets.
The start :Wyver lane Belper DE56 2UB @ 09:30am. Short walk from race HQ.
From race HQ, runners should follow the signs ‘To The Start’ & assemble at the Talbot Inn car park at the top of Wyver lane for the race briefing at 09:20.
This is where any route changes will be announced.
After the briefing All runners will walk down to the start on Wyver lane.
Please position yourself correctly at the start according to your estimated finish time. The front will be around 2 hours, the middle around 3 hours and the back around 4:30 hours +.
The time starts when you cross the start line not when the race starts.
The start area is a residential area, Please do not urinate anywhere other than the toilets
There are no toilets at the start area, please use the toilets at registration/Belper meadows.
We have tried very hard to reduce the amount of road you have to run on & where you do have placed traffic management in place but we have to share the road with other road users.
PLEASE DO NOT use MP3 players or head phones as there may be traffic including cycles on the roads & you need to be able to hear the traffic & any warning issued by other road users.
Please STOP at all road junctions & when you are joining the road from the verge & check for traffic before proceeding. Be safe not sorry.
Water stations are located at approximately 6 ,11 & 15 miles
Gels will be available at the last water station.
The water stations are crewed by the Belper Army cadets under the command of Staff Sargent Instructor L.Chadwick. Please take a second to smile & thank them for all their hard work in helping you achieve your goal & keeping you hydrated.
Note: To reduce our impact on the environment Water will be supplied to RE-FILL YOUR WATER BOTTLES. We will not be providing cups or take away bottles. We suggest you start with at least one full bottle & two energy gels. You will need to bring your own bottle/s & the means to carry them-we will not be providing bottles.
As you approach the feed station remove your bottle top & the Army cadets will fill your bottle with water, you will only have to stop for a few seconds.
Please dispose of any litter at the feed stations in the bins provided. Disposing of litter on the course is an instant disqualification.
All finishers from numbers 001 to 275 (inc) will receive a finishers medal & a Belper Rover Morph neck tube. Numbers 276 upwards no medal but a Belper Rover neck tube.
Prizes Male & Female: cash & trophy 1st/£100, 2nd/£50, 3rd/£25 with a bonus £50 for 1st finishers under 2:00hrs.
Age group prizes: Trophy. Male 40, 50, 60. Female: 35, 45, 55, 65.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO FRONT RUNNERS (VAR)
Please ensure your number is clearly visible on the front of your shirt, we will have video control points at several locations. In the event of a dispute if your number cannot be seen or read on the video you may not get a prize. The race directors decision is final.
Supporters: We would be grateful if supporters did not drive around the course as the increased traffic & lack of parking on the country lanes can be a hazard to runners & other road users.
A good place to support runners is at the first feed station at The Bear Inn at Alderwasley. The Bear has parking, toilet facilities & also serves hot/ cold drinks & food.
The finish is also a great place to cheer on runners & give them that extra boost. Just knowing you will be there at the finish will energise your runner to push harder right up to the end.
The Belper Rover is full & there will be no entries on the day.
Numbers can be transferred by prior notification to the race Co- Ordinator.
NUMBERS CANNOT BE TRANSFFERED AFTER 11TH AUGUST
Please contact us by email if you wish to transfer your number giving the details of the person you wish to transfer the number to (name,address,date of birth, contact number running club ,email address & emergency contact details. We can then carry out the paperwork & transfer the number.
Payment of £5 cash will need to be paid when the number is collected.
Entering under someone else’s number could void our insurance please do not run using someone else’s number without transferring it.
